We are celebrating Autism Acceptance week with a piece about one of our Co Ordinators, Amanda.
Amanda is our neurodiverse champion, expert by experience here at Home Start Warrington & Cheshire.
Amanda was diagnosed as Autistic and ADHD later in life.
She is a wife and mum to three grown up children and by her own admission found parenting particularly difficult. She is an Autism Friends Champion and delivers sessions to anyone and everyone!
Amanda has previously been a Home Start Volunteer and supported families that were also experiencing difficulties and used her new found knowledge to support without judgement. Since then she has worked in schools and within Early Help.
Amanda is a much valued and respected member of the team and it’s great to have such strong representation of the neurodiverse community.
