We have welcomed 7 new volunteers to our team after they completed our Volunteer Preparation Course! Well done to all of them for completing the online and face to face modules. They are now waiting to be matched with a family who needs support and are excited to get started.
Our course runs 2-3 times a year, over 4 weeks of morning sessions led by our amazing coordinators. They prepare volunteers for their role, making sure they feel confident, supported and part of the team. Our volunteers are never alone; a coordinator is only ever a phone call away.
All new staff members also complete the course, whatever their role, so they understand the vital contribution our volunteers make. Many of our staff actually began their journey with Home-Start as volunteers themselves!
Every family is different, so the support we offer is tailored to their individual needs. This might mean visiting a family at home, accompanying a parent to an appointment, enjoying time together at the park or a local activity, or attending one of our Home-Start groups.
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, we simply couldn’t do what we do without them. We are always on the look out for more volunteers, if interest you can complete the expression of interest form on our website, and we will be in touch!
