Welcome Amanda – I am a wife and mother of three grown up children and found parenting particularly difficult. I decided once my youngest started school to go to college and then onto university as a mature student to study Early childhood studies. I became a Home-Start Volunteer and found it so rewarding to support other families that were also experiencing difficulties and use my newfound knowledge to support without judgement. I went on to become a Family Support Worker and I have worked both based in schools and within Early Help. I was diagnosed as Autistic and ADHD later in life and currently co-run a peer support group called Warrington Autism Neuro Diverse Support – WANDS supporting neurodiverse adults and parents of neurodiverse children. I am also an Autism Friends Champion and co deliver Autism Friends sessions to anyone and everyone who would like us to. I am thrilled to be given this fantastic opportunity as Family Activities Coordinator and look forward to supporting families and children to live their best lives.
